Description

History

Geometrics Corp. was founded in 1992 by Mark Gehring, Cameron Sanders, Paul Reckwerdt and The Rock Mackie to commercialize the Stereotactic Radiosurgery Planning System that had been developed at UW-Madison. The software quickly evolved to become the Pinnacle3 Treatment Planning System, and in 1996 Geometrics Corp. was acquired by ADAC Laboratories for $3.9 million. Philips then acquired ADAC Laboratories in 2000. [1]

Current Direction

The newest version of Pinnacle3, P16, was released in 2017. The software features an entirely new GUI with capabilities common to Windows-based programs. Deformable registration was introduced within the Dynamic Planning Module. In the distant future, Philips intends to eventually offer a cloud-based, fully hosted planning solution.
